Not only do we get pure pleasure from drinking tasty wine, but also we get some health benefits along the way. Wine contains a lot of healthy chemicals and compounds due to the aging process and the perks that the grape has. Because of this, I consider the wine a wonder beverage because of the benefits we get from it. If you think about it, it’s like a liquid version of a not-so-good-but-not-so-bad doctor that we can intake regularly. Talk about prescription medicine.
I have taken the liberty of presenting to the public the few of the health benefits we can get from wine (the best way to chill wines is by wine coolers). They are as follows:
- It promotes a healthy heart
Because of the different vitamins and chemicals present in the fruit of the vine, the heart becomes healthier. It reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, strokes, heart attacks and cancer on the heart. It also helps boost the levels of HDL, the good cholesterol, and prevents LDL, the bad cholesterol.
- It is a cancer shield
Not only does it reduce the risk of heart cancer, it can also reduce the risks of cancer in the different organs of the body like the breast, colon and prostate. It was discovered that the same phenol compound present in wine that helps in lowering the risk of heart diseases also slows down the development of cancer in the different organs of the body.
- Improves the body physically and mentally
It was shown in a study that people who drank wine moderately had greater bone mineral density than those of the non drinkers. It cuts the risk of age related bone deficiency. The mind also benefits from this beverage. It helps prevent from diseases such as dementia, slows down the decline of brain function and sharpens the mind.
This would be just another reason for wine drinkers, like me, to continue drinking to our hearts content and for non drinkers to start tasting the magic of wine. But also keep in mind that too much of a good thing may be bad for you.
